Our brief was to create elevated cannabis brand from scratch. We crafted a strategy, name, visual identity, retail concept, and pitch deck that resulted in the raising of 50m in funding, the acquisition of a 30k sqft grow facility, and 5 retail locations located across Southern California.

LIVE WIDE OPEN

Many cannabis dispensaries often exude an air of uncertainty. Our goal was to reimagine this space, drawing inspiration from the welcoming ambiance of Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. We aimed to craft an experience marked by friendly staff, inviting decor, straightforward signage, branded products, and easily accessible displays, fostering a sense of comfort and familiarity.

STRATEGY

From the initial concept to the final construction, we collaborated closely with our clients, alongside a skilled team of architects, craftsmen, and printers, to bring this vision to life within our 3,500 square foot store. Our design process was marked by meticulous attention to detail, iterative brainstorming sessions, and a commitment to excellence, ensuring that every aspect of the space reflected our client's vision and values.

RETAIL DESIGN

In alignment with our client's goal of vertical integration, we developed an extensive product range comprising more than 70 Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) spanning six categories: small buds, large buds, pre-rolls, gummies, extracts, and merchandise. Collaborating closely with our grow facility, we crafted product names and concepts, while also establishing a systematic communication protocol among vendors involved in fulfillment, packaging, regulation, and delivery processes.

PACKAGING DESIGN

In order to uphold our vision and engage with our audience effectively, we organized numerous gatherings and embarked on several road trips. During these trips, we amassed a rich collection of photography and videos to form an enduring asset library. Subsequently, this content underwent meticulous editing, resulting in the creation of hundreds of internal and external communications. These communications played a pivotal role in uniting our team and building momentum for the brand leading up to its launch.

CONTENT

Over the course of 2 years, my team and I worked closely with our clients to create a unique and engaging brand from scratch, starting with the brand strategy, name, and visual identity, pitch deck support in raising 50M in capital, the packaging design of a 100 SKU private label collection, social content creation and extending all the way to the design and visual merchandising of a 3,500 square foot retail experience.
